The Birth of The Ultimate Baby Book
It all started with Artkive, a concierge service that makes beautiful coffee table books out of your child's artwork. Co-founder Jedd Gold came home to find his wife painstakingly taking photos of all their daughter's artwork to make a book out of it. He loved the idea, but knew she'd be too busy to actually do anything with the photos... so he created Artkive, where we do all that work for you!
Artkive Framed Mosaic and Art Book
After several years of providing Artkive's service, The Ultimate Baby Book was born (see what we did there?). One of our team members, Justine, was pregnant, and she was searching for a baby book that would incorporate not just photos and journal entries, but all the important artifacts from her pregnancy and the first year of her baby boy's life. She knew it required a ton of work and expertise on her part to capture the artifacts for a baby book– unfortunately, she didn't have a professional onesie photography studio. Our product team realized we could take the Artkive model and convert it into a totally personalized, customizable, and easy baby book experience.
In working with Justine, we realized she needed some guidance on what to include and how to capture some of the special moments (in addition to all the artifacts). She wasn't sure what kind of details to include like her baby's first tooth and smile so we came up with writing prompts for capturing all the baby’s first milestones and key details from their birth and first year.
Justine was having a baby shower and we realized we could incorporate one of the games her friends organized, where everyone filled in a type of Mad Libs about their wishes for the new baby and how they knew the parents. We included all those sheets completed by Justine's friends and family into her book, which made it super special and personalized. We've also included this activity with the other baby book worksheets in the package.
